    Your Questions, Answered!

    How can you help me?

During your first visit, we will diagnose and clearly explain any pain or injury you may have.

We'll then outline exactly how we plan to resolve these issues and, importantly, how to prevent them from returning once you are pain free.

We follow a proven assessment and treatment process that is reflected in our 500+ 5 Star reviews.

Can you help me even if I'm not sporty?

Absolutely! Despite our name, we treat far more than just athletes with many of our patients being desk workers, busy parents, retirees and tradespeople who aren't particularly active with sport.

We specialise in resolving pain and injury of any kind, so whether you're sporty or not we can help you get back to living pain free while also giving you the tools to stay that way.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment includes a thorough assessment where we discuss your injury history, carry out specific movement and clinical tests, and explain clearly what's causing your pain.

We begin treatment on the same day and provide a simple, personalised plan so you know exactly what the next steps are.

You'll leave feeling informed and reassured.

    Will treatment be painful?

Some techniques can feel uncomfortable at times, particularly when treating tight or irritated areas, but treatment should never feel unsafe or overwhelming.

We always work within your comfort levels and communicate throughout. Many patients describe feeling a “good pain” that leads to an immediate noticeable relief afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the type of injury and how long it has been present. Some people feel significantly better after one or two sessions, while longer-standing or more complex issues may require a structured treatment plan over a longer period of time.

Our aim is always to resolve problems efficiently and ethically — not keep you coming back unnecessarily. We'll be honest about what to expect.

    Will you understand my pain?

Yes. We take time to properly assess and explain your issue, so you understand what's happening, why it's happening, and what needs to be done to fix it.

Whether your pain started last week or has been lingering for months or even years, we approach it thoroughly and without judgement.

Many patients who have struggled with persistent or recurring pain for years tell us they finally feel listened to and properly understood after their first session.

Is this clinic high-level enough for me?

Yes. All of our clinicians hold university degree qualifications and have experience working with both competitive athletes and members of the general public.

Whether your goal is elite performance or simply living pain-free, treatment is tailored specifically to you.

Do you treat pre- and post-operative patients?

Yes. We regularly work with patients preparing for surgery as well as those recovering afterwards.

Pre-operative rehabilitation can help improve strength, mobility and confidence before your procedure whereas post-operative rehabilitation focuses on restoring confidence in movement, rebuilding strength and guiding you safely back to normal activity or sport.

If you've been advised to complete a rehab programme before or after surgery, we can support you through that process.

How much does an appointment cost?

Our pricing is transparent and available on our booking page. We focus on resolving issues as quickly and effectively as possible, which often prevents longer-term problems and repeat flare-ups.

Investing in a clear diagnosis and structured treatment plan early can save time, frustration and money in the long run and advice between appointments is readily available and free via WhatsApp, email and our rehab plan video app.

Can I claim the appointment cost back through my insurance?

In many cases, yes. If you are covered for physiotherapy or musculoskeletal treatment through your private health insurance, you may be able to claim back your appointment cost.

We recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm your level of cover however the vast majority of insurers we come across cover physiotherapy.

What qualifications do your therapists hold?

Our therapists hold university degrees in Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy-related disciplines respective to their role, and have extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

You can view individual qualifications and professional memberships on our “Our Team” page.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

Yes. We offer early morning, evening and weekend appointments across our two Plymouth clinics. Exact hours vary by clinic and day — live availability is shown when you book.

    Is there parking available?

Yes. There is free parking directly outside the building, with additional overflow and nearby street parking if needed.

    Is your clinic accessible?

Yes. As some of our patients will have trouble with mobility and general walking, our building provides step-free access, automatic doors, elevator access to treatment rooms and accessible toilet facilities.

If you have specific accessibility needs, feel free to contact us in advance and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

    Where are you located?

We are based at Cattedown in Plymouth, UK. Our full address details and directions are available on our Contact page, and you'll receive confirmation information when booking your appointment.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
